Graduate Record Exam (GRE) Information

Computer-Based Testing (CBT)

The Department of Architecture requires all graduate applicants to submit scores from the GRE General Test. The GRE General Test is a computer-based test only. It is no longer available as a paper-based test. Please have your scores reported to Institution Code #4846, Department Code #4401.

Domestic students including U.S. territories, Puerto Rico and Canada can call the National Registration Center toll free (1-800-473-2255) to schedule a test, however, it is easier to register with a local center as a local center will negotiate your test date. Many Sylvan Centers and university testing centers administer the GRE test. Students may use Power Prep software to prepare for the GRE. Preparation materials are available online from the GRE website. This software is also available at the UO Testing Center, 238 Student Health Center, Agate Street at 13th Avenue. Space is limited. To schedule a GRE Test at the UO Testing Center, please call (541) 346-2772. Tests are given several times a week.

The computer-based GRE General Test costs:

$115 in the U.S., U.S. Territories and Puerto Rico

$140 in all other locations

A limited number of fee waivers are available to U.S. citizens or resident aliens.
