"I am interested in the processes of building and assembling, the qualities of objects and materials that facilitate connection to form more complex objects, and the mental and physical discipline necessary to the work and performance of building. I teach by building, by demonstrating process and technique. I find it necessary to practice continually. It never seems enough to be technically correct. Confidence, order, rhythm and a capacity to accommodate chance and discovery seem equally important to the act of building."
Professor Jewett teaches studios in furniture design and construction, and runs the wood workshop.
