Professor Rowell's interests are in planning, design and construction. He is active in professional practice. Recent projects include the West Eugene Wetlands Environmental Education Center; Crescent Village Mixed Use Center: Urban Design, Mixed-use Apartments, Offices and Townhomes; Assisted Living Communities in Oregon, California and Nevada; a transit station for the LTD Gateway EmX route; Two new Early Childhood Centers for Head Start; a new classroom building for Oak Hill School; Oregon Paleo Lands Institute Field Center in Fossil, Oregon; Planning and programming for the Robert D. Clarke Honors College at the University of Oregon; and numerous private residences.
Professor Rowell has recently taught Building Enclosure, Building Construction, Product Design, and intermediate to advanced architectural design studios.
