Resources

The Department of Architecture offers rigorous undergraduate professional degree programs in architecture and interior architecture, as well as graduate first-professional and post-professional degree programs in architecture and interior architecture. The first professional degree programs in architecture (B. Arch. and M.Arch.) are fully accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and the professional degree programs in interior architecture are fully accredited by the Council for Interior Design (CIDA).

The Department also offers a wide variety of specialty programs.  Urban architecture studies are housed currently in Portland in Oregon's historic Yamhill District. There are study abroad opportunities in Rome, Japan, Germany and Denmark. Summer studios are also offered, and Design-Build classes and studios are a popular choice for students who want real world building experience.

Many student run organizations add to the richness of the program. There is a student journal, Avenu, a center for solar information, a graduate forum, the immensely successful H.O.P.E.S. conference held at Oregon every Spring, and students chapters of professional organizations, to name a few. Weekly, a lecture series brings architects, designers and educators in the field to the school. These lectures are open to the public.

Admission to the program is competitive. The Department attracts students from throughout the United States and from abroad. Currently there are about 550 architecture students within the program, of which approximately 150 are graduate students.
